Benefits

Except in unusual circumstances, appointments are made from July 1st to June 30th of the following year. All appointments are for one year, with reappointment dependent upon individual ability.

• Stipends
  
  
  Stipends are reviewed annually and adjustments are effective July 1st, 1997. The following lists currents salaries:
  PGY I:         $38,600
  PGY II:        $40,500
  PGY III:       $42,700
• Vacations
  
  All residents are allowed four weeks paid vacation each year.
• Housing
  
  Hospital-owned apartments are available across the street. On-call rooms and free meals in the hospital cafeteria are available for night duty.
  
  
• Insurance
  
  Morristown Memorial Hospital provides the resident with full medical coverage, including Major Medical. Life insurance equal in value to two times the annual salary is provided by the hospital, as is professional liability insurance.
• Uniforms
  
  Uniforms and uniform laundering are provided by the hospital.
  
• Miscellaneous
  
  Book Allowance: $100/year PGY I; $400/year PGY II and III
  Travel Allowance: $200/month for off-service rotations
  Conference Allowance for Presentations
