HEMORRHAGIC METASTASES WITH VASOGENIC EDEMA

View image

The initial precontrast CT scan demonstrated a focus of high attenuation within the left occipital lobe. Post contrast examination demonstrated no other abnormal areas. The patient has a history of primary malignancy. There is associated low attenuation within the deep white matter compatible with a vasogenic edema which is associated with infectious or neoplastic processes involving the central nervous system.
