FLUID IN MORRISON'S POUCH

View image

A single axial slice of the upper abdomen with the use of intravenous and oral contrast is presented.

The arrow head points to the presence of fluid within the subhepatic space - Morrison's pouch. In the setting of acute trauma, this is one of the most dependent portions of the abdominal cavity and should be scrutinized closely for the possibility of free intraperitoneal fluid.
