Morristown

Given the state's urban reputation it may surprise the newcomer to find northwest New Jersey's rural beauty, revealed in vast rolling tracts of woodland and reflected from the surfaces of a hundred lakes. The region is one of small communities that cherish their colonial and Victorian past, and yet are just a short drive from corporate headquarters, parks, theaters, restaurants, universities, highway and rail connections to New York City and international airports in Newark and New York.

In just the immediate vicinity of Morristown are a dozen lakes, a 6,000 acre National Wildlife Preserve, numerous parks and a 2,600-acre National/County park complex. A few minutes away are the campuses of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Drew University and the County College of Morris. Princeton, New Jersey, is approximately one hour away by car and Philadelphia is less than two hours. The New Jersey Medical School is 30 minutes away.

Morristown is a lovely, suburban community located forty minutes from downtown Manhattan. Known as the Revolutionary Capital of the United States, Morristown served as George Washington's Headquarters during part of the Revolution. Morristown combines the relaxed graciousness of suburban life with the cultural, social and eduational advantages offered by metropolitan centers. It is a safe community with excellent recreational facilities and public schools, good restaurants, and nice people. Morristown is located in Morris County, which is the business capital of northwestern New Jersey with many corporate headquarters for the largest companies in the United States. Year-round recreational opportunities abound in the nearby hill country of northwestern New Jersey and the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The famed "Jersey Shore" is only a little over an hour away.

Surrounded by rural country and rich in colonial history, the area combines the quaint and the cosmopolitan, giving it a unique and special appeal.
