| Description |
A rubbing sound due to the friction of visceral and parietal pericard layers. |
| Findings on Examination |
The rubbing may occupy all of systole an diastole. It is intense, grating, machine-like sound; which may have 3 components and obliterate heart sounds. If it has only 1 or 2 components, it may sound like murmur. |
