Diseases:
Males - Urethritis 2-7 days after exposure
- Proctitis in homosexual men
Females - Urethritis, asymptomatic infection, pelvic inflammatory disease, Perihepatitis (Fitz-Hugh-Curtis Syndrome)
Disseminated gonococcal infections
Children - Gonococcal ophthalmia neonatorum
Treatment:
Ceftriaxone, spectinomycin, or ciprofloxacin and doxycycline
