programs. Reg has been an active member of the fire
service and emergency medical service since 1980. He is a certified
Paramedic and he holds an associate's degree in Fire Protection
Technology and a bachelor’s degree in
Organizational Management. Reg joined the PSTC staff in 1997.

Areas of responsibility include: program planning, curriculum development, and
budgeting; faculty recruitment and supervision; course site selection; marketing and
advertisement; review of program effectiveness; direct teaching for all Emergency
Medical Services programs. Ken's latest innovations are the development of our
first Web-based course with SUNY Learn Net
and our first two-way TV course over the RAITN system.
Ken is an active firefighter and EMT, in service since 1976. He holds an
associate's degree in Fire Protection Technology, a bachelor's
degree in Management of Human Resources, and a master's in
Instructional Technology. Ken is Regional Faculty for the Department of Health,
and a member of the National Association of EMS Educators. Ken joined the PSTC staff in 1988.

Areas of responsibility include: primary Paramedic Program instruction; development of
curriculum, teaching methods, instructional materials and student evaluation
processes; clinical and field training coordination; program marketing and
management of the student selection process. His efforts have been recognized by the
NYS Department of Health Award for Excellence in Teaching. Peter is an active certified Paramedic,
in service since 1978. He joined the PSTC staff in 1989.

of instructional materials and clinical scheduling. Kay holds an associate's degree in
Liberal Arts and Sciences and is an adjunct EMS instructor. She is an active EMT, in service
since 1983. She joined the PSTC staff in 1996.

Marc is also an active EMT, in service since 1984 and holds bachelor's and
master's degrees in business administration. His areas of special interest lie in the

Part-Time Program Coordinator, Emergency Services
TEAM Command Program
Areas of responsibility include: curriculum development and coordination of the
Public Safety Incident Management
and Command Post Operations programs. Kevin began his career in
fire service in 1968. His current full-time
position is as Assistant Fire Coordinator and instructor for the Monroe County Fire
Bureau. He is an adjunct instructor with the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and
Control, the National Fire Academy, and the NYS Emergency Management Agency. Kevin
holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management and is a National Fire Academy
Executive Fire Officer Graduate. He joined the PSTC in 1983.

Technical Assistant, Emergency Medical Services Programs
Areas of responsibility include scheduling, distribution, maintenance and inventory
control of Emergency Medical Services training equipment, with a focus on instuctor
support. Tom is an active volunteer firefighter, in service since 1975. He joined the PSTC
staff in 1992.

Program Coordinator, PSTC Operations and Initiatives
Areas of responsibility include: analysis, design, implementation, and
administration of technology-based instructional and support systems,
in an effort to maximize operational effectiveness; coordination of professional
development and resource leveraging opportunities for the Training Center. Kathy is
our Local Area Network administrator and database developer/manager, as well as the PSTC Web
Master. She joined the staff in 1981.

Director, Criminal Justice and Public Safety Programs
Areas of responsibility include supervision of Monroe Community College's Public
Safety Training Center, as well as the Law and Criminal Justice Academic Department.
Larry joined the college in 1969 and has been the recipient of the MCC Distinguished
Professor Award, the State University of New York's Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Teaching and the Innovator of the Year Award from the League for
Innovation in the Community College. He has also been named a Master Teacher by
the University of Texas Community College Leadership Development Center and a
Master Instructor by the New York State Municipal Police Training Council. Larry holds a
bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a master's in American History. He is also a
Distinguished Military Graduate, a retired bull Colonel after 26 years of
commissioned service in the US Army Reserve, and a highly-decorated Viet Nam veteran.
He joined the PSTC as Director in 1993 after 12 years as Chair of the Law and Criminal Justice Department.

Areas of responsibility include videography, video tape editing, and creation of
2D and 3D computer-generated graphics used in the production of video-based
training programs. John has an extensive background in film, television,
and commercials and was part of a production team that won a New York State
Emmy in Children's Programming. He holds a bachelor's degree in Film/Video. John
joined the staff in 1995.

Senior Technical Assistant,
Law Enforcement Recruit Programs
Areas of responsibility include: assisting in the coordination and implementation
of training programs
for those at the entry level of Law Enforcement, both
police and
probation;
conducting student/staff/instructor
problem solving; providing instructor support; assessing and responding to customer
needs; counseling and mentoring program participants; scheduling, monitoring, and
assessing instructors. Jim served for 22 years as a police officer and holds a
bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He joined the PSTC staff in 1988.

Program Coordinator/Lecturer,
Law Enforcement Recruit Programs
Areas of responsibility include coordination of and curriculum development for
law enforcement recruit programs, including:
Police,
Security Guard,
Probation, and
Corrections.
Bill also coordinates the usage and grant funding of the Rush Firing Range.
He has been granted the title of Master Instructor by the New York State Municipal
Police Training Council. Bill is active in law enforcement and volunteer
organizations, in service since 1968. He joined the PSTC staff in 1988.

Areas of responsibility include coordination of and curriculum development
for Law Enforcement In-Service programs.
Dave gave 20 years of service as a police officer and is recognized as an expert in
the area of substance abuse strategies for prevention, treatment, education, and
enforcement, for which he was the recipient of the International Narcotics
Enforcement Officers Association Award of Honor. Dave has served as the
Associate Director for the NYS Substance Abuse Education Project SASA,
Coordinator of Substance Abuse Prevention Programs for Wyoming County Department
of Mental Health, and was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration Task
Force. He is a New York state credentialed substance abuse counselor, a
certified addiction specialist, an adjunct professor in the Health Science and
Public Administration Departments at the State University of New York College at
Brockport, and a Master Instructor with the New York State
Municipal Police Training Council. Dave holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal
Justice and a master's in Public Administration. He joined the PSTC in 1993.

Secretary, Public Safety Training
Areas of responsibility include payroll, purchase requisition, budget planning and
management, inventory control of administrative supplies, Law Enforcement Council
and Training Subcommittee support, as well as general staff support. Sue also
manages PSTC room usage. She joined the PSTC staff in 1989.

Technical Assistant, Law Enforcement Programs
Areas of responsibility are providing assistance in the management and coordination
of In-Service and
Corrections training programs, which includes helping and
monitoring instructors in the development and implementation of lesson plans, as
well as conducting assessments of completed training programs. Guy was formally the Recruit
and Field Training Supervisor for the Rochester Police Department. He is a Bureau for
Municipal Police certified Defensive Tactics, Firearms, and Master Instructor, as well as an
International PR-24 and Straight Baton Instructor. Guy is an accomplished writer of over two
hundred published articles on officer survival and is a charter member of the American Society of
Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET). He joined the PSTC staff in January of 1999.

Technical Assistant, Air Crash and Fire Simulations
Areas of responsibility include the proper and safe operation of all live-fire simulators
at the new Public Safety Training Facility currently under construction on Scottsville Road.
He is also responsible for training and certifying all instructors who operate the
simulator system. Jim is an active volunteer firefighter and EMT, in service since 1981.
He joined the PSTC staff in 1998.
